FIGHTING SERVICES APPEAL.
OVER £3OOO NOW RAISED. A most gratifying response by- the householders of Palmerston North was made in the house-to-house canvass for funds for the Fighting Services Appeal. Mr A. G. F. Lawson, who was responsible for the organisation of the canvass, reported that a total of £SOO had been raised. Mr Lawson expressed 1 1 is thanks to his committee and the many lady' collectors who made this splendid result possible. Owing to the lack of space it will be impossible to acknowledge every donation made. Whilst the smaller contributions which made up the bulk of the money collected are fully appreciated, it is only possible to acknowledge through the Press amounts of £1 and over given in the house-to-house canvass.
