MOTOR-CYCLE ON ROADSIDE Early this morning the body of Alt’ James William Hargart. aged about 2-3, a painter residing with his mother at 17 Cuba Street, Lower Hutt, was found lying over a hank by the roadside at Kaipororo, rear Alount Bruce (between Eketahuna and Mastertonl. A motor-cycle was lying on top of the body. Air Hargart left liis home about o a.m. yesterday to visit friends at Norsewood. It is believed the accident occurred about 7.30 last evening. It was evident that the motor-cycle had left the road when rounding a curve. LOST OVERBOARD. FISHING EXCURSION TRAGEDYPer Press Association. BEENHEIAI. Alareh 23, Tragedy overtook a fishing excursion to Port Underwood early yesterday morning, when Ernest Robin Palmer, aged 55. married, of Christchurch, was presumed to have been lost overboard while the launch on which a party of about twenty men was proceeding down the Opawa River. The launch left Blenheim at 2 a.m. Less than an hour later, when nearly everyone aboard was asleep, the owner, Air T. Daken. who was at the helm, hoard a splash. He gave the alarm and a check-up revealed that Air Palmer was missing. The launch turned hack and a twohour search was made from the dinghy without success. Dragging operations throughout- yesterday were fruitless.
