THE STOCK MARKETS.

THE ADDINGTON SALE. LOWER VALUES. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, March 19. The Addington live stock market was held to-day because of the Easter holidays. There were reduced yarditigs of store sheep, hut a heavy entry of breeding owes, the best of which sold up to ewe fair rates. Fine-wool sorts were in .somewhat better demand than at recent Addington sales. Romney cross ewes and all older sorts were down in price, bringing about the lowest values of the season. Sellers, however, met the market more freely. The host price was the 34s for 94 Corricdale two-tooth ewes. Romney cross two-tooth owes made to 28s; ordinary half-bred two-looths to 21s; and station two-tooths and small and backward sorts, 11s 6d to 13s 6d. There was a smaller entry (5000 head) of fat sheep. There was a slight general casing in the values of good sheep, and a more pronounced casing for medium and inferior 6orts. Exporters operated to a very small extent and values, generally, were under the schedule rates. Good wethers realised 25s to 295, with tops to 31s; station wethers, 17s to 19s; good ewes, 20s to 235, with the tops to 255; export ewes, 11s 6d to 15s. Fat cattle were limited to a small yarding of 335 head, and there was a weaker sale all round, particularly for the lighter sorts. Good steers realised £l4 to £l7, with the tops to £l9, and mediums £l2 to £l3 10s; best cows and heifers, lo £ll ss; rough and unfinished cows, £4 15s to £6.
