EXTRACTS FROM “STANDARD.” MARCH 21, 1910. It was reported from Brisbane that the Fitzroy Rjver at Rockhampton was in high flood and 'many ports of Rockhampton were inundated. The Warrigo River was over a mile wide. It was reported that part of the Maori village of Waahi had been wrecked by a landslide which had slipped into Lake Taupo. A number of whares and a. church were destroyed and one person killed when caught and overhelmed by the slide. There had been unrest in Thessaly, stated a report from Athens. 1 he peasants, who were in a state of serfdom, had attacked a train near Larissa, five peasants being killed ami fifteen wounded. Lord Minto, Viceroy of India, had presented a golden- casket containing the relics of Buddha, discovered at Pishawar, to the Burmese delegation.
