WORKERS’ COMPENSATION
NEW BRITISH BILL. •LONDON. March IS. The Government is introducing after Easter a Workmen’s Compensation Bill in which the principle of family allowances is admitted for the first time. It provides for a weekly supplement of 5s for the wile when a husband is totally disabled, and 3s for each child under fifteen. The scales are reduced in proportion to incapacity. The minimum pensions for parents of unmarried men killed in the war are increased to os from 2s. The present, maximum pensions of 10s for one parent and 12s Gd for two are to he increased hv 5s in exceptional circumstances. Claimants’ capacity for self-support is not taken into consideration.
