WEDDINGS.

COX—MOFFATT. A wedding of wide interest was celebrated at bt. David’s Church, Terrace End, in the early evening of Saturday, March 9, when Elsie Irene, elder daughter of Air and Mi's I/. H. Molfatt, of 10 Frederick Street,-Palmerston North, was married to Lieutenant Robert Nelson Cox, New Zealand Dental Corps, youngest son of Airs S. A. Cox, of Palmerston North, and the late Mr IV. J. Cox, of Dimdein. Rev. It. AVarnock was the officiating clergyman, and Airs Murray played the wedding music. The bride, who was given away hv, her father, was smartly attired in an ensemble of porcelain blue Angora, woollen georgette, the frock having a square neckline finished with soft folds, the bodice being pleated into a waist yoke. The skirt had knife pleats, and the tailored coat was designed edge to edge. She wore a turban of the same material as her ensemble and carried a floral muff in shades of Tahiti rose. In attendance on the bride was Aliss Nancy Stuart, of Palmerston North, wearing a model frock of Tahiti rose jersey sheer made with hustle effect. The bodice had a high neck finished with loops, also short sleeves, and was rucked in front. .-She wore a matching turban and carried a floral muff in the same shade as the bride’s cnseniblo. The best man was Lieutenant W. Struthers. Both bridegroom and best man are in the Dental Corps, the former at Trenthnni and the latter with the Maori Battalion in Palmerston North. The reception following, held- at the home of the bride’s parents, was attended by some 60 relatives and friends. Air and Mrs AToffatt received their guests, the latter wearing a navy ensemble, the coat being finished on the lapels, collar and sleeves with eyelet embroideries over white. She also wore a navy peach bloom hat with white mount, and cyclamen shoulder spray. The bridegroom’s mother assisted, wearing an ensemble of black woollen georgette relieved with white embroidery, a black fur felt hat and a shoulder spray of pink carnations. Mrs E. S. Hoddinott, of Scatoun, Wellington, sister of the bride, was present, wearing a frock of navy and gold threaded striped silk with navy hat. Among the relatives present were Air and Airs D. G. Moffatt (Otaki), Air and Airs Tv S. Moffatt (Palmerston North), Alesdames P. Douglas (New Plymouth), J. Hanson (Wellington), H. Bowling (Alanaknu) and Win Mono (Paraparaumu). Air and Airs D. Blake (Otaki). and All- and Airs B. Cox (Palmerston North). Among the visitors from a dis--1 tatiee were Mr and Airs C. E. B. Irving, of Wellington, and members of

the Dental Corps of the Maori Battalion were also in attendance. Lieutenant and All's Cox left later by car on their honeymoon. Until her husband leaves for overseas Airs Cox will remain in AVcllington. Prior to her marriage Airs Cox was the guest of honour at a number of parties. Mrs and Aliss N. Stuart being iiostesscs at a gift evening, Mrs S. K. Moffatt arranging a five o’clock party which took the form of a kitchen evening, and Airs C. Anderson tendered a “bathroom” evening.
