MOTION DEFEATED.

PALESTINE LAND SALES. LONDON, March 6. The House of Commons rejected the Labour motion condemning the control of land sales in Palestine by 292 votes to 129. Tlie motian criticised the regulations on three main grounds—that they would discriminate unjustly against one section of tlie inhabitants in Palestine, that 1 hey were inconsistent with tlie terms of the mandate; and that the Government had acted without the authority of the Council of the League of Nations. The situation in Palestine has been restored to normal, states a Jerusalem report. As the outcome of tlv demonstrations against the land regulations two are dead and 300 were injured. The latter included 12 British and three Jewish constables.
