(Eroitt Our Own Correspondent.) ALILSON, March 7.

At tlio miniKil meeting of the -Milson Women’s Institute there was a good attendance. The president extended a welcome to all present. The report stated, inter alia: “During the year nineteen new members have been enrolled, the number of financial members now being 130. Demonstrations have been given on woolmops, rubber mats, bridal bouquets, recovering eiderdowns, pelmets, and rolling of bandages, while talks have been given on food conservation and travels. r ! he entries in the competitions, although showing an improvement, are still small. The gardening circle has had a very active year, competitions being held at each meeting. Two successful flower shows were bold. This circle enicred at the Manawatu and bedding shows. r J he I arts and crafts circle has shown good 1 progress. This circle also entered the [ Manawatu Show and gained first prize. I The drama circle presented play-readings and held a- concert and dance. The singling and folk-dancing circles have been in I recess. We were represented at the -annual council meeting of the North Wellington Federation by Mosdames Henwick, and Drake, Mrs Murphy and Miss Prentice being delegates at the half-yearly council meeting of the Manawatu Fodi oration. Mosdames Brookfield and Gore 'have acted as group delegates. Two members have been appointed each month to visit the Hospital. We purchased a hall at Jlokowliitu to be re-erected on our reotion at Milsoti, but owing to the tenders being 100 high, the contract was not let, the hall being resold. The hall building fund lias steadily increased. A national emergency committee of ten was formed. Nine dances were hold, the proceeds being divided between the ball and the general funds. In place of (he picnic a pleasant afternoon was spent in the garden at Mrs McKenzie’s residence. Donations have been given lo the North Wellington and Dominion . Federations, while baby clothes were donated to the Women’s Hospital Auxiliary. Special thanks are due to Mr Garner (auditor), lo all members who have made donations, to (he hostesses, and to the men who have helped at the various functions.” The president thanked the retiring secretary and treasurer. remarking that after their years of faithful work they would be. missed. Mrs Murphy (president) was returned unopposed, and the committee comprises Mosdames Anderson, Cullen, Childs, Cushing, MoMurchie. Ronwick, Mouldey, Wood, Whyte, Whittaker and Miss Terry. The following were elected conveners of the circles: Drama, Mrs Sharman ; singing, Mrs Whittaker; gardening. Mrs .Brookfield; arts and crafts, Mrs Ben wick; Hospital visiting, Mrs Penketh: link correspondent Mrs O.orc; Hospital visitors foi the month, Mrs Prentice and Mrs Fovvlds. The points prizes were: _ Host bloom, fluster, Mrs Brookfield; single, Mrs Graham. Floral, novice, Mrs Brill; open, Mrs Brookfield; arts anti ciafts, Mrs Ward. Shoulder sprays were presented to the retiring president, secretary and treasurer by Mrs Brookfield. Thanks were extended lo the scrutineers (Mesdnmes .Tardine and Mcßae). The hostesses tor (lie April meeting are Mosdames 11. Prentice, Pike, Peters, W. Prentice, Proctor, Penny, Pratt, Parkes, Penketh. \V If. Richardson, Remviok, Regan, If. Richardson. Robbie, P. Richardson, and Miss Prentice. Mr Griggs and family have taken up residence In Montreal Street, the former having been transferred here by the Railway Department.
