GERMAN RAIDS FAIL.

WESTERN FRONT ACTIVITY. Received February 21, 12 noon. PARIS, Feb. 20. A French communique states that a German raid east of Nied failed. There was slight activity on the remainder of the Front. A.n evening French communique received earlier stated: “To the west of the Saar a German detachment tried to approach one of our posts and was driven back with losses. There is resumed firing from casemates on the bank of the Rhine.”
