FIVE PERSONS HURT.
MOTOR-CAR LEAVES ROAD
ACCIDENT AT KAIRANGA
When a rental car driven by one of their number left the road near the intersection of the Kairanga Road with Gillespie’s Line shortly after midnight, five persons suffered injuries and were taken to the Palmerston North Hospital by the Free Ambulance. The injured are:—-
MR C. TUNNICLIFFE, of 12 David Street, superficial injuries, now discharged. MR 0. B. HILLS, 421 Featherston Street, head injuries, condition not serious MISS E. WALTERS, 518 Main Street, injuries to the face, condition fairly
serious. MISS L. PLIER, 16 Florence Avenue, cuts and abrasions, condition not serious. MISS J- I. OLIVER, 514 Main Street, head injuries, multiple injuries to the body with one or two fractures, condition fairly serious. It is understood that the party were returning from a dance when the car left the road and hit a strainer post. It then travelled some distance and struck a pair of power poles The ear was extensively damaged.
