RAIDERS IN ATLANTIC.

CONFLICTING EVIDENCE

(British Official Wireless.) Received November 2, 10.35 n..m. RUGBY, Nov. 1. Questioned in the House of Commons about reports that two German pocket battleships were in the Atlantic raiding commerce, the First Lord of the Admiralty (Mr AY. Churchill) said the evidence on all the circumstances of these raids was conflicting hut he confirmed the fact that one of the type, namely the Deutschland, had been abroad on the ocean. Mr Churchill said German submarines were using the west coast ports of Eire for refuelling. He 6aid the responsibility of territorial waters rests with the Eire Government. Elsewhere the Royal Navy was doing its best.
