TROOP JOTTINGS.

4th Palmerston North (All Saints’) Troop.-—Our parents’ evening, held recently, was a complete success, anti our displays drew favourable comment from all present. Our parade last Friday opened with Hag-break and prayers, alter which the flag-raising team had a try-out, while the rest of the troop were taken for signalling by “llama.” A game testing our knowledge of the flags was played, and this was followed by an inspection of handicraft. As a result of the special call for Scouts "last Tuesday, thirty-three of us turned up. 4th Palmerston North (All Saints’) Cub Pack. —David Adcock and John Humphries must be complimented on the handicraft they have made, their work being outstanding both in quality and quantity. The other Cubs (have also been very industrious and we have a good display this year. St. Peter’s Troop.—We held a meeting on Friday, October 27. Seeing that the Seoutroom was locked, l l ’. Burrell, senior patrol-leader, took charge of the troop. Inspection was good—Tuis 9, Huia6 9, Kingfishers 9j. We must congratulate F. Burrell, A. McKegg, P. Williams, H. Turner, 1). Priest, 11. Johnson, R. Tinsley, J. Hor.nblow, F. Smith, B. Brown, K. Andrews, J. Arlidge and H. ltemvick, who all passed their athlete’s badge on Friday afternoon. The Scoutmaster is arranging that B. Goddard, C. Small, N. Cooke, A. Alderson arid B. Wills go for theirs as soon as possible. The first game we had was a knot relay, which tho Kingfishers did very well, winning six games; Huias got one game and lire Tuis none. The game was signalling. A game of. big ring rvas held next—Kingfishers scored 10 points, Huias 5 and Tuis 5. The cup lor tho month was presented to Pat-rol-Leader Burrell, of the Tuis, who gained 72 points; Huiu, 681 points; Kingfisher, 66 J- points. 2nd. (Terrace End) Troop. —On a recent morning at 6.45 a number of our boys paraded in Kauri Street and, l>cfore his leaving for the Weraroa flying school to commence duties in the Air Force, “Tawa” Davidson said goodbye to them all. As the car moved off they gave three hearty cheers for him; every boy is proud that our Scouter has gone to do his duty for the King. Kaliu from St. Patrick’s “l>owled” along to our parade on Friday night and gave ns a yarn on the Morse code • and later took the second-class boys for semaphore. Mr Britton took our patrol-leaders for knotting and splicing. Thanks very much, “Kahu” and Mr Britton. “Grev Owl” presented George Whiting with his fireman’s badge and promised to present a number of other boys with badges next week. Congratulations,, George.
