FORCED LANDING.

EXPERIENCE WITH BOMBER. "While returning to Wellington from the air pageant, on Saturday, the Neiy Zealand Air Force bomber SI26G made a forced landing at Paiaka, a few miles from Koputaroa, at about 3.30 p.m. It appears that the engine gave trouble when approaching Levin, and the pilot, having circled over the Koputaroa swamp area, selected a landing area on the property of Mr V. E. C. Webb close to the Manavatu River stopbank, where he landed without damage to the machine, but knocking down a fence in the process. The pilot and observer were uninjured and later proceeded to Wellington. The cause of the engine trouble is believed to have been a fuel blockage.
