USE OF COD LIVER OIL.
PIGS’ HEALTH IMPROVED. Tn the Journal of the Ministry of Agriculture (December, 1938), is reported a series of experiments made recently’ tat the National Institute for Research in Dairying, at Reading, which appear to prove the efficiency of a ration of cod liver oil for pigs. Pigs which had no cod liver oil supplement, and showed symptoms) of stumbling, nervous collapse, convulsive fits and failure to grow, were given up to 2 per cent, of cod liver oil and in all cases this brought about a prompt recovery, says ilie report. One half per cent, of cod liver oil was found to be sufficient to prevent the onset of these symptoms.
