LEAGUE OF MOTHERS.

TWELFTH ANNUAL REPORT. The twelfth animal report of the Palmerston North branch ol the ! League of Mothers, to he presented at i the meeting tiiis week, states:—“\Ve ! review with pleasure and gratification the activities of the year which commenced in August, 1038. Eleven meetings were held, til coverage attendance being 120. Owing to the decision of the Dominion executive, that members may now resign, or, if wo have lost, trace of a member for five years we may remove her name from the roll, and also with a number of members transferring to other branches, 27 having gone to Terrace Find, our enrolled ■ members now number 21)2. Financial ! members are 212. Members from Alonij ington, Wellington Central. Lower 11utt, and Auckland branches have j transferred and have been welcomed to our branch during the year. “Varied with addresses, musical items and roll calls, the programmes have been interesting throughout tinyear. The twelfth birthday party of our branch was celebrated on April 2(3, with a lathers’ evening which was a very successful function. The magazine and pattern box, and supervised hy Alcsdnmcs Thomas and Whittaker, arc I still a source of interest to members. The singing circle, under the leadership of Airs Christiansen, with All's Williams as pianist, continues to he of great assistance to the branch. the items always being appreciated. At the August meeting last. year, our then president, Airs T. Daley, pending her departure to Auckland, reluctantly resigned and Airs A. AlePlierson was elected president. All's E. Heron, a vice-president, and Airs C. Jarrett, a member of the committee, have also moved to other towns during the year. We regret to report the passing of three of our valued members-—Aliss AlcLaggnu (honorary life vice-president who presided at th° inaugural meeting of our branch iu 7027), Airs Brown, and Airs Alartin. In thanking all who have given their services to make the meetings so successful this year, we would, esueciallv like to mention Air C. Woods. ; Airs ( has. White (Dominion presi- 1 dent).
