The Daily Telegraph’s Zagreb correspondent says that a crowd of 5000 wildly cheered the Yugoslav victory over the German players in the final of the European Zone matches for the Davis Cup. The Germans considered the crowd’s enthusiasm spoiled their game, and they resented their failure. They also caustically commented on the crowd’s behaviour. IT. Henkel (Germany) intimated that no German tennis players would again play in Zagreb. Besults ol the second singles round were as follow: J). Mitic (Yugoslavia) boat It. Goepfert (Germany), 6—l, 6—2, 6—3; F. Puncec (Jugoslavia) beat Tl. Henkel (Germany), "l(J—8, 6—3, 6—o. Yesterday, in the doubles. Henkel and R. Menzel (Germany) boat l’uneec and F. Knkuiievic (Yugoslavia), 9—7, 4—o, o—4, 3—6, 6—l. Yugoslavia won one of the first round of singles and both the second series.
