(From Our Own Correspondent.) CARNARVON. July 27. The Clydesdale School basketball team played a friendly match against Chakra. The visiting team proved very much superior against their le-s experienced playore, winning by 7 goals to 1. Those taking part were: —Clydesdale: Goal, D. Zajonskowski, J. Harris. P. Luxford; centres, Zeta Short Dawn Teague, Mona Teague; defenders, M. Luxford, Ngairo Short and J. Gcnniils. Ohakea: Goal, B. Price. B. Matthews. IT. Walker; centres, S. Tremaine, S. Walker, S. Sadler; defenders, ]>. Ellery, J. Bartlett, and D. Ellery. Ohakea goals wore shot by If. Price (3) and 11. Walker (4). D. Zajonskowski goaled for Clydesdale. Miss E. Knox refereed. Afternoon lea was provided by the Clydesdale players. On Wednesday a team of players from Tangimoana School came to play foothajl against the Clydesdale hoys. The Tangimoana team was: D. Taylor (captain). B. and IX Young. M. Carkcck, T. and O. Ponnaki, F. Spry. Clydesdale: Ivan McKenzie (captain), Keith Maxwell, Bill Powell, Russel! Giles. Murray, Giles. Don Knox and Frank Schultz. Ah' 11. Mansell refereed. 'Tangimoana were leading by 16 —0 at half-time. The teams amalgamated after half-time and made a boiler game. Afternoon lea was served by the senior girls. A committee meeting of the Women’s Institute was held at Miss Clare’s home on Wednesday to finalise arrangements for the birthday evening next month. The flower show" schedule was also revised and cdpios are lo he sent to the various schools and institutes as soon as possible.
