AMPHIBIAN LOST.

MISHAP IX ISLANDS. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON. July JIG. The cruiser Ac-liilies lost her Walrus amphibian aeroplane off Aitutaki (Cook Islands) to-day according: to cabled advice received from Rarotonga and officially confirmed bv the Royal Naval Headquarters, Wellington. The aeroplane is understood to have capsized when coming alongside the warship after a flight and to have sunk. There were no casualties. This is the second amphibian lost by the Achilles in the past few months, a similar mishap having occnred when she was passing through the lied Sea on her return from England in April.
