ITALY’S WHEAT.

MINIMISING IMPORTS. ROME, July 6. Italy’s wheat harvest is estimated as being about equal to last year’s liarvest. which totalled, roughly, 80,000,000 quintals. This was announced yesterday by the Minister for Agriculture, Signor Rosroni, in addressing the Cereals Corporation.

Signor Mussolini, who presided, said that Italy must aim tit a harvest of 85,000.000 quintals a year to meet her requirements. The corporation decided upon the adoption throughout the country of a single type of (lour and to minimise imports in order to prevent a fresh exodus of gold. The newspaper Lavoro Fas'cista states: “This measure marks the end of bourgeois bread. Gentlemen and peasants will henceforth eat the same —another indication of the higher brotherhood which Fascism is introducing throughout the world.”
