OROUA DOWNS.
(From Onr Own Correspondent.) OR QUA DOW AS, July 13. The monthly meeting of tin* Young Farmers’ Club was held on Monday evening, when a large number attended. The speaker was Air Buchanan, of Jlalcombe, who took as his subject “Grasses.” Air Buchanan had with him several samples of turf and was able to use these *to exemplify the points of interest in the various grasses. On the motion of Mr Maurice Moll'at,. seconded by Air D. Gray, the speaker was accorded <f core .»/ thanks. The speaker for next month will he an officer of the Defence Department, who will deal with recruiting of volunteers. It was arranged to hold a ball, the arrangojnents being left to the committee. The monthly euchre tournament of the National Party was wc!I ? attended. The winners were: Airs IJ. Fuller and Air J. Stratford; consolation, Mrs R. Harvey and Air 1). Williams. The* remainder of the evening was s»yut in dancing. The Oroua Downs Golf Club men’s team will visit the Rangitikci Club on Sunday.
