(From Om- Own Correspondent.) FOXTON, July 12. Three bundled and thirty-nine children in 1< ox ton have been given immunisation against diphtheria as a result of flic Health DepartmentY campaign locally. At a meeting of the Plunket Society the mirso'd reports for April, AJav and June were received. Airs D. R. Barron was appointed delegate lo attend the provincial conference of the society, which is to-be held ill New Plymouth ’in August. The members of tbe Foxton Volunteer Fire Brigade held llieir annual ball last evening. The dance was well attended. Kxtra dance numbers were played by Messrs T. Fast and J. Newton. The annual meeting of the Afetliodiut Ladies’ Social Guild was held recently, when Rev. C. S. L. Oliver presided. The (report stated that the guild had had a happy year, enhanced by the freedom from financial worry, i his being brought about by generous donations and the cytdematie giving by means of the envelope system. The officers for the ensuing year are: President, Mrs C. S. L. Oliver; vice-presi-dent. Airs Ilyrics; secretary, Airs L. J. Chittenden; treasurer. Airs J. F. Riches. Mesdames If. Podmore and J. Kvans were appointed representatives on the Dorcas Society.
