POLAND REJECTS DEMAND. CUSTOMS OFFICER ARRESTED. LONDON, June 12. The Polish Government, to-day formally rejected the Danzig Senate s demand for a reduction in the number of Polish Customs officials in the Free City, it is reported from Warsaw. The Foreign Minister (Colonel Beck) declared that Poland would not tolerate the Danzig Senate’s intervention in Customs matters. He added that if the Polish officials were in any way hampered lie would not only further increase the number, hut also order economic reprisals against the Free City. Meanwhile, the Danzig secret police have arrested Jan Lipinski. a Polish Customs inspector who left his post on June 9 and did not return. The authorities have ascertained that he was field for drunkenness, hut it is claimed Lipinski is a teetotaller. Warsaw message which reached London says that AT.
