BUTTER AND CHEESE. LONDON PRICES. A .DULL MARKET. A further fall of 3s a cwt lost week, making a total decline of 9s during tho fortnight, brought tho prico of Now Zealand salted butter in London down to 105 s, the lowest level of tile season. At this time last year tho price was 129 s to 130 s a cwt. The latest quotation is nearly 20s a cwt below the London equivalent, of tho guaranteed price. According to tho cabled report supplied by the Primary Products Marketing Department to'tho Dairy Board, there was an improved demand at tho lower level. I'riday’s closing quotations, with those of the previous week in parentheses, were as follows: Now Zealand. —Salted, 105 s (103 s; a year ago, 129 sto 130 s); unsalted, 108 sto 109 s (Ills to 112 s; a year ago, 131 s to 1325). Deliveries of New Zealand butter from store last week totalled 1637 tons. Tho quantity in store was 6335 tons, compared with 5426 tons a year ago. Deliveries of Australian butter wevo 1243 tons, the quantity in store being only 1424 tons, compared with 5182 tons a year ago. SHARP FALL IN CHEESE. A further decline of from 4s to 5s a cwt. last week brought the price of New Zealand cheese down to 49s to 50s, which represents a fall of from 10s to 11s in a fortnight. Tho latest quotation is front 21s 6d to 22s below tho prico ruling a year ago, 'The market was Slow last week, but there was more doing at tho lower prico at tho close. Deliveries of Canadian cheese were 2626 boxes, the quantity remaining in store being 75,137 boxes, as against 71,163 boxes a year ago. i . Gradings of cheese in New Zealand for the week ended May 13 wore 8015 crates of white and 4183 crates of coloured, a total of 12,193 crates.
