RAIN PROBABLE. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, May 20. An anti-cyclone is still centred to the north while a shallow depression is approaching across the Tasman. Pressure has risen sharply over Tasmania. Forecast. Strong north-west to westerly winds to gales, but a change to southerlies possible within about 24 horn's. Weather, occasional rain probable at first west of the ranges, but later becoming more general. Temperatures, mild, but becoming cooler tomorrow. Seas, rough. THE RAINFALL. For the 24 hours which ended at 9 a.m. to-day .12in of rain was registered at the Palmerston North Boys’ High School. Mr C. H. Mason, of West End. supplies the following particulars of the weather: The rainfall for the 24 hours ending 9 a.m. to-day was 14 points. The tot.i.l for the month to date is ,54in, and for the year to date G.s4in. RIVER GAUGE. Noon.—2ft. 9in.
