METEOR THEATRE. “SING ME A LOVE SONG.” It- is an axiom in the .film studios that ail Ihe songs for a big musical production must bo I)its. It just wouldn’t do for the songs in a costly film to fall short in any v.ay. This constituted one of the problems that accompanied sound in pictures. Tho movie studios were able to fiolve this problem whicn stumped the music houses. They tailor their songs 'lo tho measure of the stars who sing them' and to public taste. Thi* was done in the Cosmopolitan production, “Sing Me a Love Song,” First National production now at ihe Meteor Theatre. L # mg before the cameras began turning, that high-priced team, Harry Warren and Al Du bin, was working on the songs. There were many experiments before certain compositions were selected for rehearsal by Janies Melton, the star. r I hen varied studio audicnccrs, and outsiders too, had prehearings of the songs. The net result is a. line-up of songs as nearly surefire as pre-tests can make them. ThercVs “That’s the Least You Can Do for the Lady,” a novelty ballad. It is sung by James Melton, as is “The Little House that Love Built,” a. foxtrot ballad handled a s a production number. In singing “Summer Night.,” the tenor it> accompanied by a niale chorus. The background is the rooftop of a department store. Melton also sings an “old timer,” “Your Eyes Have Told Me So.” It was given modernising touches in a special arrangement by Mel- | ton. Last and not least, Zasu Lilts sings for the first time in pictures. The song is “Carry Mo Back to the Lone Prairie.”

All his fellow villagers in Cloardale town . are anxious to help him spend it but he remembers their neglect and decides to use the money as ho sees lit. He offers a homo to pretty Meg (Dorothea Kent), a sharp tongued but loveable girl who has been forced into a hobo life by economic stress.

Frcdric March, and co-starring Adolph© Menjou, May Robson, Andy Devine, Lionel Standcr. Now. for tlie first time, the emotionally thrilling truth about’ Hollywood is drnrnaueall.v told in this unforgettable picture.
