FOG AT AUCKLAND.

SHIPPING HAMPERED. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, April 17. Incoming shipping was held op for several hours this morning owing to a dense fog over the inner harbour. The liner Monterov from California was obliged to anchor off the North Head at 6.45 and was unable to move towards her berth for three hours. The Aorangi from Sydney was close behind and had to remain in the stream for a considerable time, berthing about 11.30 The Mahana from Gladstone (Queensland) arrived early in the morning and berthing was delayed until later in the day. The Kopara from Gisborne anchored until the fog started to lift about ten o’clock. From earlv morning the air resounded with fog horns and warning bells. Early ferry boats were delayed.
