The new matron and sub-matron iiotitfied that they would arrive to-day. and arrangements were made in this connection.

The secretary reported that she had consulted the town clerk regarding ttie unauthorised use of the Willard Home name as a reason for holding Sunday concerts and had received an assurance that permits would not lie given in future except where the necessary authority was obtained.

The matron’s report stated that the health of the children had been fairly good ; several had had slight colds, but all were now better. They had all had a happy Easter, Aliss Nathan presenting each with an Easter egg. A picnic at the Esplanade had also been greatly enjoyed. The children’s wireless set had been repaired and was giving much pleasure. The new carpet in the passage was an advantage. A large hearthrug for the playroom and another for the staff sitting room were being made from the old runner and a large piece would he left suitable for using on the verandah on wet days. Aliss Anderson expressed the gratitude of herself and of Aliss Pearce (sub-matron) for the past kindnesses of the hoard members, this being the last report she would submit. They had loved their work with the children and regretted that, owing to indifferent health, they c-ould not carry on. They wished the incoming matron and sub-matron every success and trusted the home would bo able to carry on its good work for many years. They were both willing to help at any time they were needed.

The president’s report and the financial statement were received and accounts amounting to £2O 16s 4d were passed for payment. A social afternoon to welcome the new matron and sub-matron was arranged, and plans for the anniversary day were also discussed.
