SALE OF RACEHORSES.
1400 GUINEAS FOR MALA GIG I REFUSED. SYDNEY, April 17. At flic annual sale of racehorses in training. brood mares, stallions, arid untried stock, to day, an ofi’er of 1400 guineas for tlie New Zealand horse Mnlagigi was refused. Tlie owner, Mr G. Nelson, expressed his willingness to accept 1500 guineas, which he hopes to get privately. Tito former New Zealand horse Trov was bought by Air C. Goodfeliow, Aleibourne, for 350 guineas. Bourbon was passed in at 650 guineas, Billy Boy at 190 guineas, and Mohican at 425 guineas. The English stallion, Solicitor-General, was passed in at 1100 ettinens. Another stallion from the Eldorslie Stud, Iliad, was acquired bv Messrs Osborne and Bennett for 525 guineas. Courteraft, submitted bv the Now Zealander, Mr W. TI. Gnisford, was sold to Mr S. McDonald for 775 guineas.
Tlie best price for brood mares was 525 guineas paid by Air W. Henderson for Grumeli, by ICsar from Ad Gloriam. Mr Alan Cooper paid 450 guineas for Manilza, by Manna from Waritza.
