BOTABTAN’S lAIPBESSTONS

Rotarian E. A. Wallace, of Wellington, who has recently returned from a business trip to Europe and the United States, was the speaker at the weekly luncheon of the Palmerston Rotary Club, yesterday, his address being concerned with descriptions of the different factories ho had visited. Mr Wallace was welcomed by the president (Rotarian A. Grigor). He had, said Air Wallace, seen many interesting factories, including a cameo factory at Naples, where beautiful mosaic work was done; a lace factory in Venice; watch factories in Switzerland; a diamond cutting and polishing factory in Holland; a perfume factory in France; a Zeppelin factory in Germany; a china factory in Stoke (England), and also crystal glass works; and paper and woollen mills in Inverness. He had also had the privilege of spending some time inspecting some big undertakings at Detroit, United States. At these factories he had seen many wonderful sights, which he described to his audience in an instructive manner. A vote of thanks to the speaker for liis address was proposed by Rotarian 0. V. Ciochetto, and carried by acclamation. Visitors welcomed were: Alessrs L. K Brown (Pukokohe), R. W. Priest (Palmerston North), E. W. Pearce (Palmerston North), and H. C. Heath (Christchurch).
