ACTION ADVOCATED WIDER BASIS OF GOVERNMENT Received March 29, 11.5 p.m. LONDON, March 28. Thirty-four Government supporters, including Mr R. A. Eden, Mr Duff Cooper, Mr Winston Churchill, Mr C. C. M. S. Amery, Lord Wolmer, and Sir Roger Keyes, have tabled a motion in the House of Commons as follows: “In view of the grave clangers threatening Britain and the Empire following successive acts of aggression in Europe and increasing pressure on the smaller States, these menaces can only be met successfully by the vigorous prosecution of foreign policy outlined by Lord Halifax (Poreign Secretary) for which a National Government should be formed on the widest possible basis, entrusted with full powers over the nation’s industry, wealth, and man power to enable the country to put forward the maximum military effort m the shortest possible time.”
