IN BRISK DEMAND.
WOOL AT AUCKLAND
SATISFACTION FOR BROKERS.
Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, March 28
Auckland’s record wool sale wai continued to-day, as it began yesterday, with brisk bidding. Values were heady at tho recent rates ruling in othe- can-t-res. Starting at 9 o’clock, the sale went with a swing, and the two reimining catalogues, comprising 1349 lots containing 11,386 hales, were all sod before 11 o’clock.
Of the total catalogues aggrejating 36,185 bales about 5 per cent, were passed at auction, and this permntago will lie further reduced by fnvato negotiations before tho buyers leave for Wanganui. The brokers seem to be well pleased with the results. Bradford appeared to be the most active bidder, with tho Continent completing keenly. Little wool was bought for Japan, and none worth mentiong for America. The receipts from tho sale mould bring the total for Auckland’s clip this season to about a million Stirling, practically the same as last season, the lower prices having been offset by the larger offerings this season.
