BUTTER MARKET QUIET.

CIIEESE SLOW AND UNCHANGED. A decline of 2s a cwt last week brought the Loudon price of New Zealand butler down to 116 s a cwt, compared with 114 s a year ago. The present price is 8s 3d a cwt. below the London equivalent of the guaranteed 'price. .1 he market is quiet. Friday’s closing quotations for butter, with those of the previous week in parentheses, were as follow: New Zealand. —Salted. 116 s (118 s; a year ago, 114>s) ; unsalted. 120 sto 122 s (1225; a year ago, 119 s to 120 s). Australian. —-Salted, 114 sto 115 s (117 s); unsalted, 115 sto 116 s (118 s). Argentine.—Unsalted, 109 to Ills (not quoted). Danish. —-114 s f.0.b.; 135 sto 136 s spot (114 s; 135 sto 1365). Dutch.— Unsalted, 114 s, ex. 117 s (114 s to 115 s). . , , Polish.—Salted, 113 s (115 s); unsalted, 114 s (115 s). South African. —109 sto 112 s (113 sto 115 s). . Deliveries of New Zealand butter from store last week totalled 1672 tons. Jhe onantity in store on Friday, including 658 tons ex Rimutaka, Waipawa and Tainui, was 5618 tons, as against 5134 tons a year of Australian butter last week wore 1876 tons, the quantity in store being 4567 tons, as against 3643 tons a year ago. . • rvT The market for cheese is quiet, New Zealand white and coloured being unchanged at 60s a cwt, as against 68s 6d to 69s 6d a year ago. Deliveries of New Zealand chose from store last week were, 15.510 crates, the quantity in store on Friday being 93,791 crates, as against 59.615 crates a year ago Deliveries of Canadian cheese Jast week were 93,600 boxes, compared with 76,515 boxes a year ago. Cheese gradings in New Zealand for the week ended March 18 were 18.633 orates of white and 10,317 crates of coloured, a total of 28.950 crates.
