In London roeentiy, the small octavo note-book containing the original manuscript transcript of Henry Francis Lyte’s best known hymn, “Abide Mith Me,” consisting of eight verses, three words of which differ from the usually accepted version, brought £76. The purchaser of the volume, which contained other hymns and poems, a portrait of the author, and an autograph letter, was Lady Parry.
