MESSAGE TO LEADERS.

MR EDEN’S SPEECH. “UNITE NOW, ACT NOW.” Received March 27, 10.5 U a.m. LONDON, March 26. Mr Anthony Eden, addressing men’s associations in Grimsby, declared that the period of facile and dangerous illusion had ended. Britons were aware of the issue confronting them and the nature of the forces unleashed. Peace depended on the determination of Britain's leadership and the vigour of its action.

Therefore, Mr Eden added, the people’s message to their leaders was blunt and urgent, namely : “The time for argument is past. These are not days for bickering, delay and hesitation—there has been enough of that. Unite, now, act now, waste not an hour. Act and so convince the world that Britain is awake and is in earnest.”
