(From Our (hvn Correspondent.) KONGOTJSA, March 24. Tlio annual meeting of the H.S.A. proved most successful, there being an attcndancc of 28, while six new members wore elected. An apology for absence was received from Mr \V. Foster. The annual report and balance-sheet, read by the secretary (Mr A. Trenkner) revealed a satisfactory position. r .l lio election of officers resulted : —President, Mr W. A. Churchill; vice-president, Mr R. C. Hill; secretary-treasurer, Mr G. Wen born; committee', Messrs R. McKay (Glen Oroua), G. Hill (Taikorea-Glcn Oroua), F. Glasgow (Kopane). F. Gennills and W. Knox (Makowhai), W. Russell and W. Mai iso n (Fairfield). The election of delegates to the Pulls R.SrA. was left to the committeo General appreciation of last year’s Anzac Day parade was expressed, and it was decided to continue for this year along the same lines, members being asked to attend the general meeting regarding Anzac Day observance. It was resolved to send an invitation to Captain Wrigldson, of Tangimoana, to be present, and to ask Mr W. '"Foster to take cliargo of the parade, men to fall in at the bank corner. It was expected to have 200 poppies on sale on Poppy Day, which was lixeij for the 29th of lliis month. Tlie chairman asked members to let it bo generally known that the funds realised from the sale of poppies were put aside and reserved entirely for the relief of necessitous cases and disabled men. Mr A. T. Bailey brought forward a remit to be forwarded 1o the Bulls branch asking that Imperial soldiers of ten years’ residence be put on tho same footing for pensions as Now Zealand returned men. The secretary report- , ed that of the 28 members present 22 had | paid their subscriptions for the ensuing year. Before the conclusion of the meet- j ing, thanks were accorded to tho retiring j secretary (Mr A. Trenkner) for his work > (Mi behalf of the auxiliary, and cordial ! wishes expressed that his health should soon bo completely restored. Messrs WenIjorn, Donovan, and Mobbcrly were appointed a committee to make all arrangements for challenges for the R. C. iiill Cup.
Mr and Mrs J. Glover, of Rongotoa, are on a visit to New Plymouth, where they intend to spend a. fortnight’s holiday.
