CYCLING EVENTS.
WEST COAST MEETING. The West. Coast (North Island) Cycling Centre held' a championship meeting at Wanganui on Saturday night under ideal conditions, members of the Palmerston North Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club being prominent. R. Ixjader won the 100 metres time trial and the 500 metres sprint, but was disqualified in the latter event for alleged crossing, the first place being awarded to M. Baynes, of Wanganui, whom Eoadcr had beaten easily in the final. L. Hazelwood, of the Bulls Club, rode a well-judged race to take the honours in the 10 miles championship. He also gained second place in the 1000 metres time trial after another heat with Essex (Palmerston North) to decide the place, they having dcad-hcatod in their race.
The half-mile junior and five miles junior championship were won by H. Steward, of Eeikling. Hall (Palmerston North) being second in both races. Donovan (Palmerston North) secured third place in the five miles race. Rosuhs: — 1000 moires time trial.—R. Loader (Palmerston North), lmin 22 l-sscc, 1: L. Hazelwood (Bulls), lmin 24soc. 2; H. The time was taken for the last 220 yards sprint.

Junior half-mile championship.—lT. Steward (Feilding) 1, B. Hall (Palmerston North) 2, F. Clinton (Wanganui) 3; time, lmin 11 3-ssoc.
Junior five miles (paced) championship. —II. Steward (Fcilding) 1. B. Hall (Palmerston North) 2. 11. Donovan (Palmerston North) 3; time, llrnin 12 l-ssec.
