MINISTER’S TOUR.

TO VISIT AMERICA. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, March 24. The Minister of Lands (Hon. F. Langstone), who has been appointed by Cabinet to represent the Government at the International Labour Conference in Geneva this year, has arranged to sail from Auckland for Sail Francisco on April 3. He will be accompanied by the chief clerk and deputy-registrar of industrial unions {Mr G. M. F. Jackson). The conference will open on June S and will last about three weeks. After visiting tlie United States, Mr Langstone will travel through Canada before crossing the Atlantic to England. He intends to visit the Golden Gate Exposition in San Francisco and the World Fair in New York. The Zealand Government has courts at each of these exhibitions, and as Minister in Charge of Tourist and Publicity Mr Langstone has a particular interest in them. During Mr Lnngstono’s absence from the Dominion the departments under his control will lie administered by other Ministers The reallocation of the portfolios involved will he announced by the Prime Minister (Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage). These include the Lands and Rurvcv Department,. State Forest Service, Tourist and Publicity Department and the Valuation Department. Mr. Langstone had also been acting as Minister of External Affairs and acting-Native Minister, and these two portfolios will also require rc--1 allocation.
