EARLY AS POSSIBLE

BRITISH STATEMENT. PREMIER’S INTENTION. (British Official Wireless.) Received March 25, 11.30 a.m. RUGBY, March 24. The Chancellor of the Exchequer (Sir John Simon), answering a question in the House of Commons by Mr C. R. Attlee (Labour .leader) said that Mr Chamberlain would make a full statement on the international situation at the earliest possible moment. A Press Association message says that Mr Attlee has issued a statement that there is not the slightest basis for the report that Mr Chamberlain and Lord Halifax are negotiating with Mr Attlee and Mr A. Greenwood in an effort to broaden the basis of_ the Government. The Labour discussions with Mr Chamberlain have been entirely confined to the foreign situation.
