Whyte, D. 5.0., and Airs AMiyte, of Hamilton, are on a visit to Palmerston North and arc the guests of their daughter, Airs Z. Boyden, of Ruahine Street Airs J. AVesney, of Mastcrton, is visiting Palmerston North for the Jones-AleDonald wedding, to-day, and is the guest of Airs W. Alania, of Church Street. Air and Airs H. P. I.a wrv, of Vintoria Avenue, liave as their guests Air and Airs 11. Y 7. AViddowson, of Christchurch. Prior to the departure of Airs L. Loveday on the first, stage of her journey overseas with her son, Alan, the outstanding violinist, silo was enlertained at a family party at the Boson tearooms on Thursday. Airs T. Hastings acted as hostess, and the opportunity was taken to make a presentation to Airs Loveday of a. pen anti pencil in case. The marriage took place recently at. Moanaroa. Akitio, the home of Air and Airs P. V. Smith, of their oldest daughter, Molly, to Chris, son of Air A. J. Toxward (formerly of Palmerston North) and the laic Airs 'l’oxward. The hride chose a slim-fitting gown of silver lame, the hemline of the skirt falling into a graceful train. Her veil of billowy white tulle was caught into a fan-slutped coronet ol pleated net, orange blossom, and pearls; and she carried a bouquet, of white amaryllis. Her three sisters, .Misses Joan, Philippa and .Margaret Smith, wore bridesmaids, dressed in ice-blue ninon frocks, modelled on Grecian lines, and finished at the waist with, long silver girdles. They wore stiffened net fans at the hack of their upward-swept hair, and carried trailing bouquets to tone.
