SIR S. HOARE ATTACKED.

GERMAN PRESS ACCUSATIONS

FEAR IN RUMANIA,

BERLIN, March 23

The Press unanimously attacks Sir Samuel Hoare, accusing him “of irresponsible agitation.” Erom Geneva it is stated without confirmation that passenger traffic through the Brenner Pass has been suspended to facilitate troop movements and shipments of munitions going from Germany to Italy. A Prague message says that the Gestapo (Secret Police) have arrested nearly 200 Skoda workers suspected of sabotage. Public apprehension in Bucharest as the result of partial mobilisation is deepening despite reassuring official statements that it is merely precautionary and demobilisation can be expected within a fortnight unless something unforseen occurs. A cinema audience, mainly soldiers and civil servants, hissed the appearance of Herr Hitler in a newsreel.
