A LARGER CHEQUE.

RETURNS FOR SOUTHLAND. Per Dress Association. INVERCARGILL, March 23. An increase of £47,160 in the Southland w r ool cheque for the present season compared with the realisation last year is shown in the official returns of the 1939 saloo in Invercargill. Saturday is the “prompt date'’ for tile second sale held early this month, and £334,345 will be distributed, compared with £269.096 for the first sale. The total cheque for Southland for 1939 is £630,442, compared with £583,282 last year and £958,704 in 1937.
