BANK HOLIDAYS.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —How much longer are the business community to !>e inconvenienced l>v the observance of saints’ days b.v the Associated Banks? There may have been a certain amount of justification for this observance in the past, but that day has long since disappeared. I feel quite sure that the Lank officers do not either want or need the holidays ; the time so wasted has to be made up. If our local Chamber of Commerce would like to do something to justify its existence, then it should strive to have all saints’ holidays abolished. —1 am, etc., BUSINESS FIRST. 18/3/39.
