It is announced that the United States is stationing additional military representatives in the Latin American Republics io assist the military colleges, etc., as part of a determined attempt to offset the penetration oi the totalitarian States. Within a few mouths the United States expects to have 29 army officers assigned, besides naval attaches and missions. It is also announced that the three newest cruisers will pay courtesy calls on the principal South American ports. Officials have denied that the step is linked with Signor Mussolini’s recent recall of Italian cruisers which wore similarly paying courtesy calls.
