RURAL RAKINGS. BUTTER OUTPUT DOWN. The adverse weather that lias prevailed this season is reflected in the butter output of dairy factories in the Whangarn district. There was a shortage of feed at the beginning of the season, and, althrough December was a good month for production, it was followed by a dry January. when dairy production again fell. Killing at Waingawa. Killing was resumed yesterday at the Waingawa works, which were severely damaged by lire on February 4. Iwo chains arc engaged on sheep and lambs. Cattle and pigs arc not being killed at Waingawa. and it is understood no more will be killed there this season. Napi&r Wool Sales. The increasing importance of Napier as a wool selling centre is shown by the seven months’ returns to the end of January. During that period Napier offered 52~574 bales and sold 51,722. Wellington’s figures wore 54,834 and 52.488 and Auckland 51,376 and 48.445. Exports of -wool for the same period show NapierWaikokopu second only to Wellington, the figures being Wellington 61.617. N&-pier-Waikokopu 48,519, and Lyttelton 38,289. _____
