An application for a license to import a set of new uniforms from •‘•'cotland by the Hastings and District fleets Society Pipe Band lias been refused. The decision comes as an anticlimax to three years’ effort to secure sufficient funds to purchase the uniforms, the sum of £‘-500 having been raised. Tt. is impossible to equip the band fully with material procurable in the Dominion, as much of the necessary equipment is obtainable only from Scotland. An appeal is to bo lodged.
