BUNNYTHORPE.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) BUNNYTHORPE, Feb. 13. The report of the headmaster of the Bunnythorpe School, presented to the committee, is as follows: The school closed with a roll of 108 and opened on February 1 with a roll of 104. A modified curriculum ' similar to that of last February is being : adopted for the current month, special stress being laid on health, sports, and general outdoor activities. A special effort is being made to better the percentage of swimmers in the school, especially in the standard classes. At the present time only i about 25 per cent, can swim. Miss Landers I reported for duty after h&ving. been several 1 months on relieving duty; Miss M. Tomlinson also commenced duty at the opening of the school in the capacity of supernumary teacher. The headmaster also reported on requirements for the school. Owing to a number of the committemen being away on holiday, only general business was considered. Miss Howe, of Wanganui, is the guest of Mr and Mrs G. Lassen. Mrs C. W. White and familv, who have been on holiday at the seaside, returned home at the week-end. Mrs Shousgard, of Cambridge, is visiting her mother, Mrs Larcen. Mr and Mrs G. Malmo, of Mastcrton, were visitors to Bunnythorpe at the week-end. Mr R. Stewart met with a nasty accident with a hay-lift, when ho had his thumb badly crushed. It was necessary to operate on it and part was removed, i Miss M. C. A. Tomlinson, 8.A., daughter of Mr and Mrs Tomlinson, of Bunnythorpe has been appointed to the staff of the Napier Girls’ High School.
