The British United Press Chilean representative, who has succeeded in reaching the city of Chilian, following the severe earth tremor, reports that the death toll there is at least 10,000. Perhaps half of Chilian’s 40,000 inhabitants are believed to be casualties. The injured are piled in the streets and the entire city is wrecked.
