CLAIM FAILS.

Per Press Association. CARTERTON, Jan. 26. In the Magistrate’s Court, at Greytown, J. E. Oliver, a farmer, of Papawai. preceded against V. P. Calcinar, chief vehicle inspector of the Transport Department, claiming £134. 5s damages arising out of a collision with a truck on the Greytown highway in August last. Plaintiff’s truck was proceeding out of a private road' on the main road. Plaintiff alleged negligence on the part of defendant, who claimed that plaintiff was negligent through not keeping a good lookout. After two hours of conflicting evidence. judgment was given for defendant, with costs.
