STOCKS AND SHARES. GOVERNMENT ISSUES FIRM.
Interest in Government loans was well maintained yesterday on the Wellington Stock Exchange, but sellers were hard to find The onlv business

Australian Glass remained at £5 6s, sellers being in at £5 9s 6d. Colonial Sugar weakened further to £47 2s 6d, sellers asking £4B. G. J. Coles cased to business at 81s 7id, buyers staying in at 81s. There was no inquiry" for British Tobacco, Broken Hill Proprietary, Burns, lfliilp or Electrolytic Zinc. Bank shares wore quiet, with sellers offering Now Zealand** at 59s 4d. National of New Zealand were weak, business being done at 47s and in Auckland at 46s 3d. Insurance shares were linn, National being marked up to 15s 4d and New Zealand to 535.
