STOCKS AND SHARES. GOVERNMENT ISSUES FIRM.

There was no inquiry" for British Tobacco, Broken Hill Proprietary, Burns, lfliilp or Electrolytic Zinc. Bank shares wore quiet, with sellers offering Now Zealand** at 59s 4d. National of New Zealand were weak, business being done at 47s and in Auckland at 46s 3d. Insurance shares were linn, National being marked up to 15s 4d and New Zealand to 535.
