VETERANS’ TOURNEY.

WELLINGTON, Jan. 26.

Yesterday the Wellington Bowling Centre entertained players of the game aged 70 or over at the annual veterans’ day. Thirty-four fours enjoyed an afternoon’s bowls on the greens of the Wellington Bowling Club in pleasant weather. The Huff four consisting of S. Muter. H. G. Brooks, W. Hendry and R. Y. Shearer won the Shallcrass Trophy, obtaining the biggest win of the afternoon. A rink consisting of nearly the same players won last year. The oldest man on the greens was believed to be S. W. Lodge, tlie lead of one of the Eastbourne fours. It consisted of Lodge, P. Levi. H. E. Gilbert and ,T. Battersby, whose age» r nrri-eorn f e 328 vpnrfi.
